Lane Balaban

For over a decade, I counseled adolescents as a school counselor, licensed therapist, and intensive in-community counselor. Now as a full-time therapist, I get to focus all of my energy on one thing: helping teens figure out what's really going on beneath the surface and building the skills to handle it.

My school counseling background means I can work closely with both you and your teen's school to make sure everyone is on the same page. It's a level of collaboration that makes a real difference.

In our work together, your teen will learn tools and techniques to help them understand how their brain works, why they feel certain emotions, how to manage them, and how to reframe their unhelpful or negative thoughts with compassion and logic. This work empowers them to achieve their goals as they reach a place where they can fully embrace their potential.

In a judgment-free space, we'll explore the beliefs your teen has about themselves and their place in the world around them. I’ll be there to remind them that they hold the power to decide how they react to the thoughts and feelings that come up throughout their day, and that they are fully capable of taking the time to evaluate these thoughts and feelings before they act on them. Together, we’ll equip them with what they need to navigate the trials and tribulations of adolescence and build a strong foundation for their future.

I use a combination of methods that work best for your teen!
