The 15 minute consultation is an opportunity for me to hear a little bit about what is going on for your child and for me to share how I can support them. You and your teen can also use this time to ask questions about me and my practice to ensure I am the right fit.

If we decide that we’re not a good fit, I will help you find someone that will be able to help you.

Working with pre-teens and teens via video has its perks, especially because they get to stay in a familiar and comfortable space. Whether they’re relaxing in their favorite hoodie or curled up with a cozy blanket, being in their own environment helps them feel more at ease. This sense of comfort often makes it easier for them to relax, open up, and engage more fully in therapy!

To make sure this format works well for your teen, I offer a free 15-minute video consultation. It’s a great way for us to see if we’re a good fit before committing to regular sessions.

And if, after our first meeting, you feel that in-person sessions might be a better option, I completely understand and would be happy to help you find a therapist who offers that. My goal is to make sure your teen gets the support they need, in the way that works best for them.

It’s just like in-person therapy, but your child can access it from the comfort of home (usually right from their own room!)

A link to the telehealth session will be sent to you (and them if you provide their contact info) via email and text once an appointment is scheduled. A reminder will go out as well. Simply click the link at the time of the appointment to start the session.

Just make sure they are in a safe, private, and confidential space. I will not hold sessions when a client is driving or with other people in the room.

Concierge therapy offers a more personalized and flexible approach to care. In addition to your teen’s weekly therapy sessions, it includes the option for brief check-ins between appointments to offer support when something comes up. These check-ins can be helpful for reminders on coping skills, emotional validation, or a quick update on progress. You and your teen can reach out via email or the secure, HIPAA-compliant messaging app in the client portal. Please note that texting is only for scheduling or logistical questions, as it is not a secure, HIPAA-compliant method for discussing sensitive topics.

If you feel a phone call would be helpful to discuss any concerns, I’m happy to schedule one at a time that works best for you. Additionally, I offer the flexibility of same-day or extended sessions, thanks to the smaller caseload I maintain. This allows me to provide more responsive, personalized care.

Please note that while concierge services offer extra flexibility and support between sessions, therapy will always be provided during our scheduled sessions. This means deeper therapeutic work, such as processing emotions or addressing complex issues, will not be done outside of your teen's regular sessions.

Your level of involvement is based, in part, on your child’s age. If your child is under 18 years old, you will be regularly informed about what we are working on together, but the specifics of our conversations will remain confidential (unless there is a safety concern).

Parents of teens are welcome to share their thoughts and suggestions on treatment, but ultimately, it's up to the teen to decide how they want to use their therapy sessions.

It is fair to expect that you will occasionally be asked to engage in a collaboration phone call or join in on a session. We can discuss these details as we begin working together.

I totally understand wanting to know what’s going on, your care and involvement are a big part of your child’s growth in therapy. At the same time, one of the most important things therapy offers teens is a space where they can talk openly and feel safe, knowing that not everything they share will automatically be passed along to parents.

While you're legally involved in their care, it's also important, ethically and clinically, that we give your child some privacy in the process. That trust helps them be more honest, work through difficult feelings, and ultimately make progress.

If there are ever any safety concerns, like risk of harm to themselves, from someone else, or to others, I will absolutely reach out and involve you right away. I also encourage teens to loop their parents into certain conversations when it could be helpful, and I’m always available to support those discussions.

I won’t share all the session details unless your child agrees or it’s necessary for their safety, but I’m happy to keep you updated on general themes we’re working on and ways you can be supportive at home.

Every teen is unique, so the exact number of sessions can differ based on their specific needs. Progress depends on individual goals, how often they attend sessions, and how motivated they are to work on things outside of therapy.

While it is understandable to want quick results, therapy isn't about fixing things overnight. It's a process, and even small progress is important. Teens who attend weekly sessions typically start to see positive changes within the first month and may graduate from services within 6 months. However, some teens prefer to update their goals as they achieve them and continue working together for longer periods of time. The key to getting the best results is regular attendance and active participation.

I also conduct frequent assessments and check in regularly on long-term goals to ensure progress is being made. Sometimes, it takes time, but with patience, your teen will start to see improvements. You might be surprised how quickly your teen begins to apply the skills learned in therapy to their everyday life.

My fee is $275 per 50-55 minute session for both individual and family therapy. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or biweekly, based on your teen’s unique needs and therapeutic goals.

Therapy is an investment in your child’s mental health, well-being, and future. While it requires time, energy, and financial commitment, the long-term benefits can be truly life-changing!

I am an Out-Of Network (OON) provider. I do not accept insurance.

Please check with your insurance to see if you have Out of Network Benefits, I can provide you with a summary of services (Superbill) to submit to your insurance company for possible coverage or reimbursement. Most insurance plans cover 60%-80%. That being said, I cannot guarantee reimbursement of therapy fees.

• What is needed for reimbursement?

When you pay out-of-pocket or choose “private pay,” you have the freedom to select the best therapist for your child, rather than being limited to in-network providers that may not be the best fit.

Choosing private pay therapy allows for a more personalized, flexible, and comprehensive therapeutic experience for your child.

I offer more than just therapy. I'm here to be an ongoing resource and guide in your teen’s journey.

In addition to our sessions, I dedicate significant time outside of meetings to support your child.

This includes collaborating with you, your teen, pediatricians, psychiatrists, school staff, and any other relevant professionals. I also stay current on the latest research, attend advanced training, and develop personalized strategies tailored to your child’s needs.

You will be charged the full fee for canceled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours notice. In the event of an unavoidable conflict or emergency, we may be able to make other arrangements to avoid the cancellation fee.

Your child’s appointment time is reserved exclusively for them. I maintain a small caseload so I can work closely with your family and provide personalized, tailored therapeutic approaches that meet your teen’s unique needs. By intentionally limiting the number of clients I work with, I’m able to give you and your teen the focused attention and support you deserve.

This policy reflects the commitment we are both making to dedicate our time and resources to working with eachother.

A warm, supportive, judgment-free environment. We'll start by talking about what's been going on and what they're hoping to get out of therapy. From there we'll work on identifying patterns, building practical coping strategies, and setting goals that actually feel meaningful to them. Sessions are interactive -- we're building skills, not just talking.

Yes -- research consistently shows that online and in-person therapy are equally effective. In my experience, teens often feel more comfortable in a virtual setting because they're in their own space. It tends to lower the pressure of a formal office environment and helps them open up more easily.

A Good Faith Estimate is a document your therapist or counseling practice gives you to break down the expected costs of therapy. The goal is to give you a clear idea of the financial side of therapy so you can make informed choices about your treatment.

On January 1, 2022, congress enacted a "No Surprises Act", which is a "new federal protection against surprise medical bills".  Surprise medical bills arise when insured consumers inadvertently receive care from out-of-network hospitals, doctors, or other providers they did not choose.

Under the law, healthcare providers, including mental health providers, must give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for services. You have the right to ask for and receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy will cost, ahead of any scheduled services and also upon request. 

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
